Aeolus was the first satellite to measure wind profiles from space. Scientific Instruments

The Atmospheric Laser Doppler Instrument (ALADIN) was designed to provide wind profiles of the atmosphere from space. These data are invaluable for studying atmospheric dynamics, improving weather models, and refining our understanding of global climate patterns.
